Dr Shah is one of India’s foremost experts on groundwater management. He was Member Secretary of the Central Ground Water Authority and Member, Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India. He spearheaded the National Aquifer Mapping and Management Programme and coordinated the groundwater resource assessment of the entire country. He has authored more than 20 reports and edited/co-edited five books and journals. His recent publication is ‘Water Governance- Challenges and Prospects’ published by Springer. He holds a PhD in groundwater management from IIT-ISM Dhanbad.
